Obama vs Cheney

Win, lose or draw.

Today in run up to the 2012 election President Obama and the current candidate for the Republican Party and former Vice President Dick Cheney debated the finer points of National Security.

The Republican opponent went first he kept to his platform that the Constitution and the legislation signed by Congress after September 11, 2001 gave the Executive office the powers to pursue the terrorist by whatever means necessary. Mr. Cheney also kept up his attacks on President Obama lack of methodology in the deconstruction of the tactics put in place by his administration; stating that by doing so he weakens our country’s security.

Later in the afternoon President Obama presented his case to the American people. First, dismantle Guantanamo Bay Prison; it has become a symbol of injustice. Secondly, follow the Constituent it clearly indicates a separation of powers between the branches of government. Third, torture no matter what note you brought from home is still illegal. And last, in order to combat terror, we need the moral authority in order to impress the people we want to save, that we really aren’t just interested in what’s in it for us.

Two men, two different points of view, it’s up to posterity to decide who is right; that and a 2012 election.
