Bill 615 State of Georgia

Let’s make one thing perfectly clear: I believe the Founding Fathers were correct in putting in the 2nd Amendment.
“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

However the Federal Government has also made it perfectly clear that when it comes down to Public Safety not all areas are appropriate for loaded weapons concealed or otherwise.

By passing Bill 615 the State Senate of Georgia invites the possibility of an unnecessary risk to its students and faculty. By permitting loaded weapons in crowded venues it endangers the public, security and the police meant to enforce the law.

The gun lobby has always had a strong hold on Georgia’s Legislature and I respect it’s tenacity in making sure the 2nd Amendment is protected. However I lose all respect for the individuals who try to push the envelope at the risk of public safety.
