Did you guys know that the name Arizona came from the Spaniards? Some historians believe the original explorers called that part of the West “Arida Zona” translated to English means Dry Zone others believe it came from the Basque language “Aritz Ona” meaning Good Oak.
Now a days I attribute those terms to mean dry as in no gray matter and the good oak is now dying for lack of knowledge.
First Arizona has passed a law saying that the Secretary of State of Arizona has to approve the documents’ proving a person is a born in the United States prior to being put on the ballot for President. A small bow towards the “birthers” who believe President Obama was born in Kenya. Never mind there is a newspaper announcement on the day after his birth, and that he has shown a copy of birth certificate; also the Department of Vital and Health Statistic of Hawaii has said several times Barack Hussein Obama was born in the good old USA. Unlike Senator John McCain who technically was born in Panama admit tingly on a US military base to American citizen parents who made sure to claim then infant John McCain citizenship. And here I thought Georgia legislature was embarrassing…. Arizona takes the cake.
Second, the fore mentioned state has also passed the strictest law when it comes down to illegal immigration. An officer of the law with a reasonable suspicion can stop an individual and ask for their papers to prove they are allowed in the United States. Who decides what’s reasonable?
Other portions of the law criminalize anyone who knowingly harbors, give a ride or in other words associates with a person who is in the USA illegally. What? Does that include churches, hospitals, schools, and police in the process of investigating a crime?
Clue in to the Obama Administration: Time to tackle reforming immigration.
