Politics, opinions and bolt load of $%^$

I have been remiss in writing for my blog.

I could argue kids but I’ve had them for 12 years. Perhaps job but I love the news and writing about it is so much fun. So those arguments don’t work. So here we have in brief what I think about the news of late.

The Republicans have released their new contract for America. It is about 21 pages long and full of conservative and Tea Party talking points. The NFIB (National Federation of Small business) has come out endorsing a few of the statements. But if you go to their website you’ll see they also have a PAC and a running interview from FOX News; not exactly an unbiased point of view.

“ The Texas state board of education, which earlier this year stirred national controversy with its overhaul of social studies standards today narrowly adopted a resolution warning textbook publishers against infusing their materials with “pro-Islamic/anti-Christian distortions.”

We should all be concerned when groups begin to try and clean up history. The world’s story is neither neat nor pretty. And there are huge successes and failures on all sides.

Delaware. What can I say? I really thought Rep. Mike Castle was going to win the Republican nominee for Senate. 30,000 people came out to vote and 20,000 went for Christine O’Donnell. Much to the dismay of the GOP in Delaware and to the joy of the Democratic Party in the person of Chris Coons their nominee for Senate.

My parents and other assorted family members still live in New Castle County. They sum up their choice as the lesser of the two evils.

Not much more I can add to that.
