I have 4 kids ranging from ages 4 to 13 years of age. And at any given time of the day I’m telling them, “All of the: I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to do it or it was an accident, won’t change or fix what’s gone wrong.” I usually get a few guilty looks from any one miscreant who has my unwelcomed undivided attention. Followed by “It may be your fault but as your mom it’s my responsibility.” Meaning as the adult in the house I failed to prevent an error from happening. I may be an enlightened despot in the home or at the office (ha), but I am far from infallible.
And like all enlighten despots who rule over small fiefdoms, take measure of your words, they travel much further then you think.
